Hello there! My name is Marios Tziortzis and this is my personal site. I’m in my mid-twenties and everything from this point and forward will be about me :P. Anyhoo, I was born and raised in Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean. Currently I am located in a nice little town in the UK called Guildford and I am studying Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Surrey. For additional education details and achievements check out my CV. The purpose of this website is to promote my work, my photography and to have a little space on the net that I can call home. This website was designed and developed having Web Standards in mind. You can contact me here or look me up on facebook here.
My Photography
I started taking photos in the summer of 2006 when I got my first digital camera and ever since it became a hobby of mine. My first camera was a Canon PowerShot A620 and I really love it! In the summer of 2007 I bought a Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT) and I’m loving it even more! I am not a photographer but i really enjoy taking photos and digitally process them. Currently my gear consists of:
- Canon PowerShot A620
- Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D)
- Canon EFS 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 (Kit Lens)
- Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
- Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6
The photos displayed in this website are retrieved from my flickr account thanks to their sleek API. More of my photography here.
My Work
Over the years I’ve developed various custom made systems, like CMS engines, that would fit my needs. Currently I am using Wordpress for this blog with a couple of custom plugins and modifications. Besides that I’ve worked on various personal projects, business’ custom made systems or even contributed code on friends’ projects. Apart from that, I recently started designing what I am developing. I just want my projects to be usable and also functional! More on my work here.
This Site
This site is design to work on all browsers that support web standards. It is written in XHTML & CSS and according to W3 my code is valid. For all the coding I used Notepad++ on Windows and Coda on my iMac. The design was made on Adobe’s Photoshop CS3 and used some brushes from ‘In obscuro‘.
What I’m Listening
Everybody loves music. I’m getting mine from last.fm, Seeqpod and my iTunes playlists
