I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now. I’ve started using Wordpress and I was really pleased. All my blogging related work had to run on wordpress. I didn’t make any exceptions. When I had to set my portfolio/personal site though I thought I’d tried something new. That’s when I set up my own CMS/blogging engine, called ‘Onix’.

The ‘Onix’ engine was basically based on Wordpress but it was lighter and it was suppose to run faster. I had it for almost on year and I was quite pleased. I could incorporate any module I wanted really easy. Even the flickr module I wrote was working like a charm. The problem though was that I wanted more flexibility and power over my own blog. My engine was custom made for my needs but still I needed to write a lot of code from scratch. At that point I decided to drop it and come back to Wordpress.

As from now, this site is running Wordpress 2.2.2 with some custom made plugins. I did my best to keep the original design and the structure of my permalinks so everything should look the same. Even the RSS feeds are as they were in the previous design. The only thing different is that I’ve removed the google ads. I should be putting those up in the next couple of days though :P

Everything seems to be working OK now and from now on, I can say once again that I’m a proud Wordpress user!
