It’s been almost one month since my last blog update. I will try though to keep the updates short. So here are some of last week’s highlights.
- I went back to the UK for my graduation last week. I finally got my BSc in Computer Science and Engineering after two years in the UK.
- The graduation ceremony wasn’t that long as I expected. It was a good experience though.
- I managed to go to the Madam Tussauds in London after my first visit back in 1986. I was 3 years old that time so I didn’t remember much. I took lots of photos and soon they will roll out on the photography section.
- I did some sightseeing in London and felt like a tourist again!
- I went to the James Blunt concert in Cyprus and I loved it. He delivered a great show and an excellent performance.
- He also did a duet with Anna Vissi (famous Greek singer). Both of them sung James Blunt’s hit “1973“
- I recorded some songs from the concert and will upload them soon on youtube. The internet connection here in Cyprus is insanely slow so I hope I will manage to upload one video per day! Look them up under my youtube account.
- I decided to accept an MSc degree offer. So starting from September 2008 I will be following an MSc degree in Internet Computing.
- I finally updated my CV to match with my latest achievements.
- ..and I managed to watch the new Indiana Jones movie titled: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. My first comments were: Good movie…but…seriously?!

Well, I finally got back home. I finished my degree and waiting eagerly for my results. My graduation is in a month, so I come back home to enjoy some early vacations. Meanwhile I tried to move some of my projects/websites on a new server. The new server was actually being evaluated by some friends so I gave it a try as well. The initial plan was to move this site on that server and keep the clients on my current server. There were some DNS problems though that forced me to come back to dreamhost. There is a new server plan though on the horizon so eventually I will be moving out from dreamhost when the time is right. Today I also decided to update my Wordpress engine to 2.5.1. I had a really old version of Wordpress and I really had to upgrade. Finally I had some spare time and did it. The upgrade process was as always really simple and straight forward. I had to update some plugins and modify some custom made ones but that took a few minutes. The new interface is somehow ‘cleaner’ and more structured. It looks a bit faster as well. Until the next blog post, I will be enjoying the Summerish weather in Cyprus and take lots of photos with my new Sigma 10-20mm lens! :P

Well, the academic year is almost over. My graduation is on the 17th of June, just a couple of days after my birthday. Over the last couple of weeks I had my dissertation deadline and two side projects/clients wanting a website. I managed to complete everything though! The two projects will be revealed in due time after their official release. While working on other people’s websites I decided to fix some pending issues on this site. So after a couple late nights, I did some updates that you’d probably have noticed by now. Apart from that, I think I fulfilled my “new year’s resolution” post I posted back on December. Anywho, in case you didn’t catch the updates, here’s the complete list.

Ever since I’ve switched to Wordpress, I had to make sure that syndication would not be a problem. I must say Wordpress handles RSS like a charm. It works flawlessly and one couldn’t ask for anything more. Even with the flickr integration and some “htaccess” rules overwritten (thanks Iacovos for that), everything was working great! Recently though I’ve decided to give my feeds some more power. That’s why I’ve now switched to Feedburner!
